Azadeh Shahshahani
Azadeh Shahshahani is Legal & Advocacy Director with Project South. She received her JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She also has a Master’s in Modern Middle Eastern and North African Studies from the University of Michigan. She has worked for two decades in the US South to protect and defend Black, immigrant, and Muslim communities from state repression. Shahshahani previously served as president of the National Lawyers Guild. She currently serves on the Advisory Council of the American Association of Jurists.
