Doha S Abdelgawad is a teaching fellow in religious studies at the University of Leeds. She was previously a lecturer at the University of Chester and an assistant lecturer at Cairo University. As an interdisciplinary scholar, her research addresses Islamism, political violence and comparative politics in the Middle East. Her work has been published in specialised Middle East journals, and her forthcoming book is titled Unheard Voices of the Young Egyptian Brothers.
