Mustafa Barghuoti is the leader and founder of the Palestinian National Initiative and an elected member of the Palestinian Legislative council since 2006. Barghouti came second to Abbas in Palestinian presidential elections 2005. He is also a civil society and democracy activist and a member of the central council of the PLO.
