Israeli attacks on Christians in Jerusalem on the rise

Jerusalem’s Christian community says there has been a rise in attacks from Jewish extremists on their churches. The head of the Roman Catholic Church in the Holy Land warned that the rise of Israel’s far-right government has made life worse for Christians and emboldened Jewish extremists.

The Rossing Center recorded 10 serious cases of vandalism of church properties or assault of clergy from January to mid-March. In February, a religious American Jew knocked a 19th century wooden statue of Jesus Christ from its pedestal and smashed it to the floor, then struck its face with a hammer
